Scarcity & urgency
Countdown timer
How it may influence
A ticking clock draws attention to time running out rather than to the offer itself.
Evidence to check
- Note the time shown now. Does the timer restart when you reload or come back later?
- Is the end time written in the offer terms?
Useful step
Write down the time left, then check again in an hour.
When this is reasonable
Real sales and ticket releases do end at a set time.

Tamil Nadu examples (illustrative)
- Online sale: a festival-sale page in Chennai shows "Only 2 left" on a mixer-grinder. Next morning it still says 2.
- Course call: a counsellor says the Coimbatore batch closes tonight and the fee rises tomorrow.
- Showroom: in Madurai, "this colour is the last piece" for a two-wheeler.
